While on assignment for the Vail Daily on July 25, 2014, I received a hot tip that Marine Corporal Jason Hallett, while visiting the Vail Valley with the Vail Veterans Wounded Warriors program, popped the question to his childhood girlfriend Rachel MacVean the previous night. They decided to do the deed the next day at the Eagle County court house. When the community heard this they would not have it be so simple and rallied to put on a magical ceremony at the Sonnenalp Hotel along side the beautiful Gore Creek.
