USASA Snowboard Slopestyle

At the request of the Vail Daily, I took my camera gear, my board and my snowboard poles to hobble around with protecting my injured knee to witness the USASA snowboard event for the season opening of the Golden Peak terrain park. Lots of rippers and a handful of poachers today.

I wasn't able to make it up for the big dump everyone was raving about that fell yesterday but Jordan Dykes and I braved the cold weather to go mop up the left-overs out in EV. Our mop wasn't big enough to say the least. Blower!

Double up on Abe's.

Birds of Prey World Cup ski races

December 2nd - 6th, 2015

Once again, the time has come for the worlds best technical and speed skiers to arrive in Beaver Creek, Colorado and face the challenging Birds of Prey World Cup race course. I was fortunate enough to shoot this event for the Vail Daily and watch as my favorite Norwegian downhiller Aksel Lund Svindel conquered the speed race taking home a gold and his third consecutive World Cup win.

Norway's Aksel Lund Svindel lets the skis rip during his run on the Birds of Prey World Cup downhill race Friday in Beaver Creek. Svindel won his second consecutive World Cup downhill event with a time of 1 minute, 42.34 seconds.

AH Wedding Helicopter Style

Sean "Dog" Brownell and Rhianna Rasmussen tied the knot. There were great friends, incredible food as usual, bountiful beverages, and a helicopter out for a rip. Just one more glorious day for the Alaska Heliskiing crew in Haines, AK.

Impromptu Hallett Wedding

While on assignment for the Vail Daily on July 25, 2014, I received a hot tip that Marine Corporal Jason Hallett, while visiting the Vail Valley with the Vail Veterans Wounded Warriors program, popped the question to his childhood girlfriend Rachel MacVean the previous night. They decided to do the deed the next day at the Eagle County court house. When the community heard this they would not have it be so simple and rallied to put on a magical ceremony at the Sonnenalp Hotel along side the beautiful Gore Creek. Here are the photos of the impromptu Hallett wedding.
